____________Terrorists then and now____________

The Spook Media in- dustry is thriving in- deed. The Brits are the Oscar winner of that trade. Their history of espionage - in litera- ture, cinema, news media - is legend. They presently are exploiting the life and tribulation of a UK-born Pakistani (Dhiren Barot) who converted to Islam a decade ago and pro- ceeded to return to Pakistan to be trained
in all manner of the terrorist industies. He's the down- market scenario of the 'kind' of terrorist who 'could have been' one of the 9/11 bombers. Just the ticket for a UK-Holllywood flick - to update their posh 1983 upmarket spook saga that ran the Commies as the bad guys in a film they called The Ploughman's Lunch directed by Richard Eyre. ______________Timely Documentaries___________

On this UK side of the Atlantic the documentary The Falling Man by Tom Junodwas was broadcast - dealing exclusively with the many victims who leapt from the Twin Towers (9/11). But it is not being released in the USA because the Catholic Church prohibits any of 'its members' to be seen commit- ting suicide. Whereas on the other side of the Atlantic the screening of Bridge by filmmaker Eric Steel, a docu- mentary dealing solely with the huge number of individuals who leap off the Golden Gate Bridge every year - their bodies hence

washing up daily on the island of Alcatraz. No Catholic objections for those sinners? The horror film industry is shallow against realism of true carnage. Bridge was produced in 2003 and The Falling Man in 2006 both are HERE

The recently released docu- mentary"The US vs. John Len- non" that Yoko Ono has been promoting leaves two very important questions unan- swered: who snuffed out Brian Epstien (the Beatles manager) so early in their rise and who was Mark David Chapman - in fact not fiction?
fiba
shall attempt to uncover those missing mysteries as soon as possible. Meanwhile, it's no wonder that Yoko was not assassinated at the time Lennon was snuffed: after all SHE was responsible for getting him into the USA in the first instance.

Maybe they would have had to deal with the Japanese establish- ment if that had become the scenario. For now click here: HERE

A STONE'S THROW

Francoise Duhamel/Paramount Pictures

Oliver Stone's
new film WORLD TRADE CENTER (above) is to be released in the UK in September this year. It is based on the lives of two firemen who survived being buried in the rubble. Stone insists "it is not political." Why not? Because he complains; "The mantra is 'This is a political film.' Why can't I stay on message for once in a while?" What message? " It seems to me that the event was mythologized by both political sides, into something that they used for political gain," he says. "And I think one of the benefits of this movie is that it reminds us of what actually happened that day, in a very realistic way." Perhaps partially. But not at all about who were the bombers of that event. Otherwise it would never have been a Hollywood flick for sure! That is being left to a documentary circulating world-wide these days - and free from the net - called 9/11 LOOSE CHANGE Second Edition by Korey Rowe / Dylan Avery / Jason Bermas . Try see LOOSE CHANGE before you see WORLD TRADE CENTER to get a fully 'realistic' idea of what those firemen survived. HERE

Law of the locked box!

The FREEDOM OF INFORMATION act applies and becomes affec- tive only 50 years after the fact of any secret government actions. That's why December 7, 1941 (Pearl Harbor) was only examined less than a decade ago - confirming that the destruction of the USA naval base in Hawaii was deliberately instigated by the American government. It now excuses itself with the reasoning "That was the only way the American public could be galvanized by events in Europe and the Far East to go to WAR." One might now ask, 50 years before current governments are to let us know WHY 9/11 was perpetrated? To save us from terrorists? From ourselves? From Satan? Can't blame the Commies any more. Can we? Check out the DAY OF DECEIT.HERE

When I was 12 years old (1937) I learned two important worldly events: the bombing of the tiny Spanish Basque village Guern- ica and the magnificent painting of that event by the modern artist Picasso. I remember both to this day. We can ALL learn that lesson again from the book by Swedish author Sven Lindqvist. A History of Bombing HERE

The Palestine Film Festival has returned to London for the 2nd time. fiba editor, David Somer- set, was there for the opening night. Many interesting films are scheduled - to say the least - including massakar! Not many film festivals happen during the time when that country is at war. HERE

Lionel Ziprin, alive and well at 81, in his lower East Side Manhattan apartment, is by far one of the greatest poets of the 20th century. Having embraced the mantle himself of his Rabbinical Sage grandfather, Lionel Ziprin is currently reviving the Yiddish 'music' that his grandfather recorded over 50 years ago.

An interview with Lionel and the music of his grandfather was recently broadcast in the USA from San Diego. A half-hour CD copy of this broadcast has become available to fiba which we link with this feature. The publisher of fiba has been publishing verses by Leon Ziprin since 1950. Meanwhile click HERE.

Our second poet is the one and only great Turkish poet Nazim Hikmet - born in Thessalonika before that part of the Hellenic Republic was liberated in 1929. Hikmet was imprisoned by fascist Turkish authorities because he influenced it into becoming a secular state. He was also given political refuge in the USSR - where his poetry and plays were held in the highest esteem. Only now is Hikmet being appreciated in his own country - long after his death (in Moscow) in 1963. HERE

L' Armee Des Ombres (Army in the Shadows)
The publisher of fiba recently saw for the first time Jean-Pierre Melville's 1969 somber colour film L' Armee Des Ombres (Army in the Shadows) . Having himself experienced the French Underground during WW II as an 'evadee' - having been himself shot-down over Normandy before the Allied invasion but not caught by the Germans for 10 months - he was keen to see how Melville handled the 'bosses' of that Underground. BRILLIANT! Nothing short of EXACTLY how those brave people behaved during the entire occupation of France. No other war film has come even CLOSE to this masterpiece. Now that it is out as a DVD (outside the USA) it's a treasure to own a copy of this movie as soon as possible.. Check it out HERE.

What a pleasant surprise to find Turin to have been the 'cinema' capital of Italy from the turn of the last century! It wasn't until the late '50s/early '60s that Rome took over that role in the history of films from Italy. The current Winter Olympic
