LIBYA
: HOME IN EXILE Synopsis:

These are stories of Libyans who sought to develop their economy and secure its resources; to establish equality, democracy, safety and prosperity in order to create a better life for their children in their home country. They had lived under a monarchical regime which was constitutional and democratic and where freedom of expression and press flourished. They were forced to immigrate to protect their lives and principles from the tyranny of the Gaddafi regime, which created a political antagonism ÷ unprecedented in its bloodlines ÷ in violation of the dignity of Libyans, regardless of their social and political ideologies and affiliations. These exiles endured long tragedies of political suffering and pain, and of waiting for oppression to end. They never lost hope in the day when their human suffering and banishment will end.
