It is a great privilege to include the outline of Mohamed Mak- Louf's latest documentary film Home in Exile. Maklouf is the director of the ARAB SCREEN INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL (ASIFF). Not many film festival directors (in the world) are known for their own film making talents. We hope to see more of his work in future fiba editions.

We are glad to introduce a new contributor to fiba, Mark Silber- stein. We publisher here his review of a recently published book The Joke is Over by Ralph Steadman. Mark is from South Africa and holds a job at the BFI (British Film Institute).. He is currently attending the International Amsterdam Film Festival in Holland and we will publish his report before the conclusion of this issue of fiba. HERE HERE

George Andrews lives in the South of France - in order to be nearer the vast majority of people who claim to have seen flying saucers over the past half century. He himself is the author of a number of books on that subject - but is mostly noted in the literary world for his poetry. He was born in the USA and counts one of his ancestors as a 'signer' of the American Declaration of Independence.

The danger with Yoko Ono is that the countries that hate her most are Japan (for marrying outside of their race), America (for reminding them how they killed John Lennon,, and thirdly by the United Kingdom who blame HER for breaking up their 'Beatles'. Wow! The fact that she may have meant merely to rescue him from the 'quick-fix' superstar they were making him into and/or allow him to develop 'himself' for what he really needed to say to the world is dismissed. Yoko on the next hit list?
