| Cuba
is still a quiet, laid-back, underdeveloped island, despite the USA
nearly launching WW3 when the Russians
attempted to supply them with military help. Cuba
has inspired all 3rd-world countries in the
world, especial-ly Latin America, when it
dump-ed the American brothel & gam-bling
machines off their shores. Here are new photographs in their honor by
Paul Anthony. |

fiba's
festival corrrespondent Mark Silberstein
by chance met Ariel Dorfman during his visit
to the 20th International Film Festival
in Amsterdam
last winter. Dorfman
was
cultural advisor in Allende's
Democratically elected Socialist govern-ment
of Chile
when the US and the CIA's
dirty tricks were known for supporting coups in Latin
American countries and this was no exception in
1973. Dorfman's book on the subject (A
Promise to the Dead) was made into a film 'The
exile journey of Ariel Dorfman'. Directed by Canadian
director Peter Raymont and made in
2007. Check it out. This is what double-indemnity
is all about.

In
CHINA Martin Luther King
was regarded as the Nelson Mandela
of his enslaved people in Amer- ica.
Long before the Yanks had acknowledged him
as the mouth piece of BLACK PEOPLE in the
USA, oppressed nations could compare him to
Chairman Mao who cham- pioned the vast continent
of the far east for his countrymen. |

The
Motown Museum (right) re-presents
the only remaining in-dustry - besides the Boxing
Mu-seum gym - from a beautiful Euro-pean
town founded in 1701 by
Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, as a trading post for the French
to trade with the Chip- pewa Indians.
After WW 1 fac-
ist-racist Henry Ford,
a close alley of Adolf Hitler, turned
it into a cheap auto metropolis using only WHITE
laborers.

Nearly
10 years ago an important poet/filmmaker
passed away in Germany. However he
is barely known in English speaking
countries although he was born in the USA
and his father born in the UK.
George Moorse died in Germany
in 1999. Post-WW2
German cinema owes a great deal to
George Moorse - who inspired Germany's
sights and sounds about themselves. It's time the Brits
and Yanks learn every thing they can
about him. |

| The
White minority of Philadelphia
consists mainly of America's
founding families' (living in
luxury up the river); the rest are small packs of unemployed
workers who are joined by a bunch of
New Jersey left-overs who called themselves ULA
(Underground Literary Alliance)
started in 2000. So now, having moved
West after conquering NYC
and the East coast, ULA
produce their own theatrical performances,
and publish books and
record CDs of their shows. Frank Walsh,
one of Philly's best poets, whose poem
EARTHDAYMAYDAYANYDAY
published
here, helps ULA to
bring a modicum of joy and
fun to the old capital Philadelphia
where nearly none exists. |

Jazz
came to the United kingdom
much later than most European coun-tries.
When it did in the 1960s an entire
new young generation of musician emerged to take jazz
into the NEXT stage of its
develop- ment:: FREE JAZZ - beginning
with The Spontaneous Music Ensemble.
The newest stage of this movement can be heard by Flautist/
Saxophonist Finn

WINGED
SISTERHOOD IN THE USSR is the title of a SHOCKING
piece of World
war
history.
Kept 'secret' by the
WEST
for obvious reasons - not least be- case the only visual combat use
of women by the Allies
were the nude females on the noses of USA
bombers.
Take a look and be AMAZED
by how the Soviets women served their country.

BLANK
PANTHERS; The Revolu-tionary Art
by Emory Douglas is the very BEST
hard copy book published during this past year - if not for more than
a decade ago. Rizzoli, Inc., the US
publisher. deserves a special award for having managed to produce this
extraordinary 250 page card-paper
publication. The art work of Emory Douglas
is unique to say the least. And his special subject - the brief existence
between 1967 and 1977
of the Black Panther Movement is worthy
of a Nobel Prize!
It brings to life those brave African-Americans
who attempted to liberated their people from the gross injustice and lack
of compensation meted out to them for their years of slavery and servitude.
Even to this day. You'll want to OWN a
copy of this book soon as you see it. |
