Nearly
10 years ago an important poet/filmmaker
passed away in Germany. However he
is barely known in English speaking
countries although he was born in the USA
and his father born in the UK.
George Moorse died in Germany
in 1999. Post-WW2
German cinema owes a great deal to
George Moorse - who inspired Germany's
sights and sounds about themselves.. It's time the Brits
and Yanks learn every thing they can
about him. |

first Capital city of America,
is a black slum . The Black Panthers
emerged from there in the 1960s because it had already become known
that the white chief of police, Frank
Risso who later became Mayor,
was a racist Italian-Ameri-
can on the scale of the Mafia.
Mumia Abu Jamal was only 15 years
old when he joined the Blank Panther
as a journalist. Mayor Risso
waited for the right time to 'frame'
Mumia that sent him to Death
Row. That was in the late '70s.
The negro group called MOVE who Mumia
champion had their home bombed
and the survivals are still imprisoned. Philadelphia
here I come? |

found- ing families' (living in luxury up the river); the rest
are small packs of unemployed workers
who hang around sex shops and
sleaze joints. This equation has bread
'performing poets' who entertain themselves
while living off meager social benefits, Otherwise their scenes
are deadbeat. Frank Walsh, one
of the better poets in that bleak slum, helps to breath a modicum of love
where nearly none exists. |

Inc., the US publisher.
deserves a special award for having managed to produce this extraordinary
250 page card-paper publication. The
art work of Emory Douglas is unique
to say the least. And his special subject - the brief existence between
1967 and 1977
of the Black Panther Movement is worthy
of a Nobel Prize!
It brings to life those brave African-Americans
who attempted to liberated their people from the gross injustice and lack
of compensation meted out to them for their years of slavery and servitude.
